The book is all but finished. I am working on paperback formatting now, and Three Days goes live in a week.
I love this book.
I know I say that about them all, and they are all my babies. This one is special.
When I wrote Loving Rowan, Andrew was the bad guy who would never be heard from again. I don't know what compelled me to write his story. It was a random thought that when he came out of prison he had been humbled by the whole thing and now had to move on by himself.
I felt bad because I had wrote him to be just awful. He was rude, arrogant and that was before his wedding to Charlie. But I thought about what losing someone so close could do to a person. That maybe, in Charlie's absence he was desperate to fill the gap. And I guess Rowan was the logical choice. What happens when you love someone so much that the loss of them kills you inside, makes you crazy? That's what I wanted to write about.
So I did.
Three Days is told entirely from Andrew's point of view. That in itself was an interesting experience. I tried writing from a male POV for the first time in Loving Rowan, but to do an entire book like that was a challenge. Apart from it being Andrew's story, I had trouble getting into Maddy's head. We meet her early on in the book and she's the heroine of the story. I could see her, picture her, but I couldn't hear her thoughts.
But that's okay. She is one of the craziest, fun characters I've ever written.
Not long to go. I hope you enjoy. :D
